THE FLOOD LINE

I'm talking about that vibrating vibe, that uplifting rhythm that you experience during sunny days. How the sun stirs up that little bit of craziness in you, encourages your use of colour. Simultaneously recharging and relaxing, like the tide line. Never the same, always different and unmistakably yourself. Think of 'Jamming' by Bob Marley & The Wailers. Because the sun is reggae.

Next to the light of the sun is the coolness of the shadow. The shadow is the stilling, the chilling of the sun and its heat. Here the colours fade to pastels. The blue emerges, the splintering of light and shadow. The decision of the shadow only longs for more warmth and light. The song 'Born to be blue' belongs to this. For the master of desire is Chet Baker.
